Adventures in Film // Off Season Goals

Last week at our monthly Chicago Photographer meet up we talked about our goals for 2014, what we would like to accomplish, what we would like to change, and what steps we were going to take to make sure that these goals are met.

Some of you may know this, but one HUGE goal for me is to shoot more film, and dedicate time to really learning how to get it right. I have been lucky enough to have a few couples/friends this year who have been fine with me taking a little extra time here and there to practice on them, and I wanted to share some of the results of that practice here. I plan on having a bunch more posts related to film this off season, as I continue to practice and grow, but for now I leave you with these – straight scans, which means they have not been edited at all (AMAZING!).

Film is a collection of Fuji400 Portra400 and some super expired kodak film, which apparently still works. All taken with the Contax645 and scanned by Danny Goodman Film_0013 Film_0012 Film_0011 Film_0002 Film_0001 Film_0010 Film_0009 Film_0008 Film_0004 Film_0003 Film_0015 Film_0006 Film_0005

** If you’re interested in being one of my guinea pigs this off season just let me know! **

Happy Monday!

  • Christy Tyler - LOVE IT! I shoot all our personal photos (for the most part) on film because it feels less like work to me, and because it requires nothing from me on the back-end but to send it to be developed! These are beautiful! Can’t wait to see as you continue to experiment!ReplyCancel

  • Evan Hunt - These look great Britta! Glad you’re enjoying the Contax and Danny is the man. :)ReplyCancel

  • Christine - Aww I love this… can’t wait to practice with you in December :) xoxoReplyCancel

  • Anne Lindahl Bassett - Britta, these are amazing! If you ever want to use us as guinea pigs, we would definitely be up for it. :)

    Have a great week!ReplyCancel

  • Amanda Miller - We should have some film fun together! I shoot all our home life photos on film. :) (I just never get them processed lately, LOL.) But I would love to do more portraiture with it! ReplyCancel
