Alright – Full disclosure – I’m using this fabulous post as a way to promote engagement sessions. When I first met with this Stacy and Greg to talk about their June wedding, they hadn’t thought much about an engagement session. I gave them my schpeel “It’s complimentary! You can take it or leave it, but I highly suggest you take it – even if it is just a quick session, and drinks before or after – the ‘getting to know you’ time and a little bit of time in front of the camera is good practice for your wedding day.” But seriously, think about it. How awkward is it to be in front of a camera? Now imagine that you are able to have a practice round, so that on your wedding day, there is no getting used to being in front of the camera, because you’ve already done it! You are pros! Wedding days are often a little bit crunched for time, and the less transition time (those few minutes of getting used to being the center of attention) the better. Engagement sessions are the perfect time/place (a super relaxed environment, no worry about time) to get out all of those jitters out :) I met Stacy and Greg for a few drinks (and fried pickles!) at The Gage before we headed across the street to shoot a few rolls of film. Ladies, take note – the perfect time for your hair / makeup trial, is before your engagement session!! How AMAZING does Stacy look!? If you do your trial before your engagement session (especially make up), your stylist will be able to see how their work looks in photographs, which will help them perfect your wedding day look. These two were so comfortable with each other, which always makes my job easy. The subtle smiles, and the way they can make each other laugh was pure magic. Their wedding is just a few weeks away (my, how time flies!), and I can not wait to capture all of the wonderful memories for them :)
