If your facebook feed looks anything like mine, then you’ve noticed that the Holidays are traditionally a popular time for couples to get engaged. In honor of that, I thought I’d dedicate a post to some of my favorite engagement and couple sessions from the year. Whether it is a sunny summer day, a snowy cold winter afternoon, or a cozy in home session these photos bring me back to time spent with wonderful couples I now call friends. Some of them were married this year, but most are 2014 couples who’s weddings I can’t WAIT to capture.
Engagement sessions are my favorite. I mean, my ABSOLUTE favorite. The two hours I spend with these couples allows me to get to know them, to watch how they interact, and to let them experience what it is like to be in front of my camera, so on their wedding day they are pros :) We always always always have fun and often celebrate with a drink when it’s all done. Sure, engagement photos are great for save the dates, but they are also a wonderful reminder of that special time in a relationship (and lets be honest, great for facebook profile pictures!!)
So as we close out this year (which has been a fabulous one, for sure!) it is fun to look back but it is even more exciting for me to think about all of the wonderful people I have yet to meet. I love talking with couples who have just gotten engaged and are experiencing the wonderful (and sometimes stressful) joy of the beginning stages of wedding planning (seriously, it still boggles my mind that people ask if you’ve set a date, THE DAY you got engaged… I mean, give it a minute people), and hearing the excitement in their voices. I love hearing how couples are going to incorporate elements that are important to them into their day, and I love love love when over a glass of wine, beer, or cup of coffee there is an instant connection between myself and the couple across the table.
So whether you are married, single, newly engaged, or dating – enjoy this little look back into some of my favorites from 2013
To all of the couples here. Thank you for being so unbelievably wonderful. I love you all and can not wait to continue to see your love stories continue to unfold. Thank you for enriching MY life with your kindness and trust in me as you plan your day.
And to all the newly engaged couples, Congratulations! I wish you all the best as you begin this fun/crazy/pinterest-filled time, it goes by so fast – enjoy!!
And to everyone, have a fabulous Monday and a Happy New Year
XO
