This past spring and early summer were kind of a dream for me. Since I began shooting weddings I always had this desire to capture love in different cities and countries. April through June I shot couples in Jamaica, St. Croix, New York, Denver, and New York again. It was a whirlwind, and so much fun – but what I realized more than anything is it is all about the people. I have had the privilege of capturing love in all of these amazing places but when I look through the images what I am drawn to, more than anything, are the emotions I see on my client’s faces – that amazing excitement and love on my client’s faces looked the same no matter where I was.
This wedding was a dream from top to bottom. When you take a romantic setting (hello, Central Park), a bride with an incredible eye for fashion, AMAZING details (those hand drawn illustrations that pop up on the paper goods were to die for), an adorable pup (with a bow tie!), a super good looking bridal party, and two people who are madly in love, you are going to have a pretty fantastic day. But one of my favorite parts of the whole joyous occasion was watching the Greek traditions that were incorporated – especially the dancing. As I watched John and Franki dance surrounded by their friends and family I couldn’t help but tear up a little bit. It was like watching all encompassing love in action, as they all joined hands and celebrated in unison.
